Accelerates Decarbonization of Off-Road Heavy Equipment

Mar 24, 2023 | Global Exhibition | 0 comments

The CONEXPO-CON AGG 2023 exhibition in the United States was grandly opened in Las Vegas. The DCEC 15-liter multi-fuel engine platform became the highlight of the exhibition, demonstrating the extraordinary zero-carbon compliance capability of the new generation of DCEC engines fueled by hydrogen, natural gas and diesel. Accelerating the decarbonization of off-road heavy equipment.

DCEC’ new platform represents a new level of internal combustion engine development, capable of meeting future ultra-low emission standards, such as: North American Non-Highway Stage 5 (EPA Tier 5) and European Stage 6 (EU Stage 6), and has the super strength to achieve zero carbon Fuel capacity that can help decarbonize buildings and construction sites such as quarries at a lower cost.
DCEC’ new future-oriented product platform adopts forward-looking design, has benchmark-level high power density and other heavy-duty performance, and has less impact on the environment, and is suitable for excavators, wheel loaders, drilling rigs, milling machines, heavy-duty trucks and air compressors machine and other key off-highway applications. The innovatively designed engine hardware is lighter and more durable to meet the challenges of harsh working conditions.

The multi-fuel structure of CCEC’ 15-liter new platform adopts a general-purpose basic engine, as well as a cylinder head and fuel system customized for carbon-free hydrogen or biogas, reducing carbon emissions by up to 90%. Its hydrogen internal combustion engine can produce up to 530 horsepower (395 kilowatts), and the natural gas engine can produce up to 510 horsepower (380 kilowatts). Advanced diesel engine, available in continuous hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) or biodiesel, up to 650 hp (485 kW) for demanding off-highway operations.
The CCEC 15-liter engine has a higher power density, a more compact structure, and is easier to install, bringing more convenience to the host equipment. With the design of double overhead camshafts, the combustion efficiency and thermal efficiency in the cylinder are significantly improved. In the design of the engine, the friction resistance is further reduced, and the etched cylinder design is adopted to effectively reduce the weight of the engine. In addition, the double overhead camshaft design also further improves the engine braking function
Hydrogen internal combustion engine on 15 liter multi-fuel platform
It adopts direct injection lean combustion, with a power of 400 to 530 horsepower (298-395 kilowatts) and a maximum torque of 2600 Nm. The fuel is zero-carbon green hydrogen, and a 700 bar high-pressure large-capacity fuel storage system is adopted, with longer intervals between fuel additions.
15 liter advanced diesel engine
Adopting CCEC latest XPI ultra-high pressure fuel injection system, the power range is wide, covering 450 to 675 horsepower (335-503 kilowatts), and the maximum torque is as high as 3000 Nm. Using B100 biodiesel can reduce carbon emissions by up to 70%, while using HVO renewable fuel can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%.

For specific applications, power from 400 to 510 hp (298-380 kW) and a maximum torque of 2500 Nm. Low noise level is a distinct advantage of this engine, ideal for construction in urban areas.
