In January 2022, Cummins Enze (Guangdong) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., jointly funded and established by Enze Fund of Sinopec Capital Corporation and Cummins, landed in Foshan, Guangdong, and started its production base project of electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment.

In November 2022, during the annual hydrogen energy industry event, Zhou Yuxuan, general manager of Enze Fund and chairman of Cummins Enze Company, said:

Cummins Enze’s first domestic proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment will come off the production line in July 2023. It is estimated that from 2025 to 2027, the cost of China’s local proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment is expected to be greatly reduced.

The cost of hydrogen production largely determines the economics of hydrogen energy use. Scale and high efficiency are the key elements to reduce the cost of the electrolyzer system and ultimately realize the commercialization of the hydrogen energy industry. Based on advanced hydrogen production technology, Cummins Enze localizes equipment production, further strengthens research and development capabilities, expands market scale, reorganizes and optimizes the supply chain, and effectively solves the key problem of high cost of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment.
