In January 2022, Cummins Enze (Guangdong) Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., jointly funded and established by Enze Fund of Sinopec Capital Corporation and Cummins, landed in Foshan, Guangdong, and started its production base project of electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment.
After one year of construction and development, Cummins Enze has established a complete organizational structure and local manufacturing capabilities to realize the localized product development, production and sales of leading proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis water hydrogen production technology in China, and promote green products with actions Development and large-scale application of hydrogen production solutions.
▲The construction of Cummins Enze PEM electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment factory is in full swing
Cummins Enze’s first domestic proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment will come off the production line in July 2023. It is estimated that from 2025 to 2027, the cost of China’s local proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment is expected to be greatly reduced.
The cost of hydrogen production largely determines the economics of hydrogen energy use. Scale and high efficiency are the key elements to reduce the cost of the electrolyzer system and ultimately realize the commercialization of the hydrogen energy industry. Based on advanced hydrogen production technology, Cummins Enze localizes equipment production, further strengthens research and development capabilities, expands market scale, reorganizes and optimizes the supply chain, and effectively solves the key problem of high cost of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment. Various scenarios such as industrial manufacturing, chemical smelting, and renewable energy comprehensive solutions are assisted to promote the industry to achieve the long-term goal of green decarbonization.
